What does Sankalapa mean?

Sankalpa" (संकल्प) is a Sanskrit term that can be translated as "intention," "resolution," or "determination." It represents a deeply held commitment or resolve to achieve a specific goal or purpose. In various yogic and spiritual practices, a sankalpa is often used as a positive affirmation or intention set at the beginning of a meditation, yoga practice, or other mindful activities to align one's actions and thoughts with their higher aspirations. Sankalpa is not just a casual wish; it is a focused and heartfelt intention that can have a powerful influence on one's actions and life path.

Sjana Elise

Sjana Elise is an international yoga instructor, wellness influencer, adventure enthusiast, and self-described sunshine-loving, hug-giving Aussie girl. She believes that we all deserve to feel empowered in our own being.
Through her own experience, she has learned that yoga is an invaluable tool for the enrichment of life and is a catalyst for personal transformation and growth. 
After struggling with depression and anxiety in her late teens and understanding the importance of connection, she now aims to generate communal happiness for herself and others. Sjana's teaching style is fun and challenging and invites you to soothe your soul and honor your personal evolution through mindful movement and conscious vinyasa. Each practice is a journey designed to release that which is no longer serving while creating space for expansion. (Classes are suitable for all experience levels).
She is passionate about helping others explore their inner world and strengthen their personal connection to the self and Source - witnessing, recognizing, and harnessing the Divine within.

FAQ

Is accommodation shared or private?

Options for both private or shared rooms will be available. Prices vary for each option and more information can be found on the check out page. Limited spots available for each room type. First in first served.

What if I’m not familiar with yoga?

Yoga and movement sessions will cater to ALL ranges and experience levels, so be sure to give it a try! Yoga sessions are held daily, so there will be plenty of time to become familiar with the practices. And it’s also the perfect opportunity to elevate your yoga practice to the next level with the optional inversion workshop! Sjana will be at your disposal, so any questions / queries you have feel free to ask!

Is my plane ticket included?

Unfortunately your airfare cannot be included as everyone would have different flights and airfares.

Which airport should I fly into?

The closest airport is Ballina/Byron. From the airport you can either hire a car or book a shuttle bus (what most other people will do is carpool with other retreat folk – you will all be put into a Telegram group to discuss these sorts of things prior to retreat).Gold Coast airport is also very accessible and offers more choice on flight times.

How do I get to the the Retreat location?

Our Retreat will be at Wybalena Organic Farm in The Pocket near Byron Bay, NSW.
You can google the address or website if you’d like more information. And/or closer to the retreat start date the address will be sent in the telegram/group chat

What should I bring?

As there will be daily yoga classes, comfortable activewear is a must! Also pack some swimmers for the pool, some fun day to say clothes and maybe a light sweater just in case as well as anything else you would like to pack.
Yoga mats and props will be provided for you.

Will there be downtime?

Yes, there will be plenty of time to enjoy the retreat space, relax, unwind, explore around the property or connect with your yogi-sisters!

Do I need a VISA?

Depending on where you are from, you will need to check what your requirements are to enter Australia.

Can specific dietary requirements be accommodated to?

Yes absolutely! Our chefs are exemplary at what they do and are very used to catering to allergies + intolerances. Please let us know if there are any medical allergies you have. All other requirements and preferences can be added to the health-form you will be asked to fill out. All food will already be locally sourced, sustainable, organic, ayurvedic and plant-based. Mostly gluten free.

Do I need to be vaccinated to enter Australia or NSW?

No, this is not currently a requirement for travellers either domestic or international.

Do I need to provide a negative covid test to enter Australia or NSW?

No, this is not currently a requirement for travellers either domestic or international.

Is there internet/WiFi?

Yes, there will be free WIFI provided. And you’re more than welcome to use any down-time we have to get on top of work emails, scroll social media or even better use this retreat as an opportunity to disconnect from technology and reconnect to the women around you, to nature and to yourself. All is welcomed!
